"What if Andre disappears?"
Plantburgh Portal is built and operated by one person right now. That's a real concern for any business signing a 12-month commit. This page is the honest answer to it. We won't pretend this is a 50-person company.
Last reviewed 2026-10-07You can export your tenant any time
Every Plantburgh tenant has data export built in. Settings → Security → Privacy & data → "Download My Data" emails you a link to a JSON + CSV bundle of your business records: clients, jobs, invoices and the rest.
The download link works for 30 days, then expires. Run it now and then if you want a local copy.
Stripe is yours, not ours
Plantburgh Portal uses Stripe Connect Standard — your Stripe account, your bank, your payouts. We're a platform that orchestrates charges; we never custody your money. If Plantburgh disappeared tomorrow:
- Stripe stays online — payouts continue to your bank.
- You retain full access to your Stripe Dashboard.
- In-flight invoices remain on your Stripe account; you can resend payment links from Stripe directly.
No custodied funds, no payout dependency on Plantburgh's continued operation.
Custom domains stay registered to you
If you've added a custom domain to your Plantburgh tenant, the registrar account belongs to you. We handle DNS routing for the white-label hosting via Firebase, but the underlying domain ownership is on your side. Same for outbound email — SendGrid sends on behalf of contact@plantburgh.com today, with per-tenant sender identity coming as part of the white-label evolution.
Today: 1.
I'm being honest. Plantburgh is solo today. We're not pretending otherwise.
What we ARE doing: every architectural decision is captured in writing, every scheduled job, server function and screen is indexed, and there is a written runbook for bringing the platform back online if I can't. A successor engineer could pick it up without folklore.
Continuity contact
For any continuity question, like "how do I export my data?" or "Plantburgh hasn't answered in two weeks," email contact@plantburgh.com.
Why publish this? Most SaaS companies don't talk about bus factor. We do because (1) you'd ask anyway on a sales call, and (2) being upfront is less expensive than dancing around it. If you're a small-team prospect comparing us to Jobber or HCP, the right framing is: "Plantburgh is younger, more focused on AI-first solo + small-team workflows, and is honest about where it is in its lifecycle." That's the trade.
